Here at The Springerle Bakery you'll discover incredible, gourmet "edible art" cookies and more, including Alice's own "Fudge Brownie Springerle" that she created for chocolate lovers! Imagine looking at a beautiful piece of art and then finding that the taste is as delicious as the appearance. This is what we strive for in making our Springerle cookies for you. All of our cookies are handmade from scratch, using the finest ingredients, and no preservatives. The Springerle cookies require between two to three days to complete and are made using replicated molds of some of best antique molds found in Germany and Switzerland, as well as in private collections in Europe and the USA. The molds depict scenes from as far back as medieval times but also include some modern designs, hand carved by Master Carvers. With hundreds of molds we can easily fill large orders without duplicating designs, which is sure to add to the intriguing quality of your cookies.
Not Just Christmas Cookies Anymore!
Springerle are frequently considered German Christmas cookies, but at The Springerle Bakery they are available year round. We offer special assortments for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Springerle cookies also make unique gifts for all occasions, including Valentine's, Mother's or Father's Day. If you are ordering Springerle cookies as a gift for a special occasion (Birthday, Wedding, Anniversary, Bridal or Baby Shower) we would be happy to personalize the choice of designs used. Just include a short note about the person the gift is for, such as "loves flowers, animals, hunting, farming, churches, etc.
Olde World "Edible Art" Gingerbread Cookies
Especially for those who love antique Christmas figurines, we are pleased to offer a variety of unique and hard to find Olde World Gingerbread Cookies, including many Santas. All of our Gingerbread figures are hand pressed and some we hand trim. They all are great for displaying as well as for eating. In addition to Santas we have several other figures and scenes from religious themes to historical. It is possible to save these cookies if they are kept in a cool, dry place. They are not fond of humidity and will "bend" if they are in an upright position in humid weather. During the summer I keep mine on a flat surface and only display them upright during the cool months.
